East on 233rd St towards Bronx Blvd.
233rd St crosses over both the Metro north railroad and Bronx River Pkwy, to reach Bronx Blvd. It then passes Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center and climbs the hill towards White Plains Rd, whose elevated subway line can be seen bridging 233rd. Traffic heading for the Parkway southbound, must turn left here, at Webster Ave. The presense of a special left turn traffic signal, atop the overhead traffic light, attests to the volume of such turns here. LPS luminaires and these high-kicking eliptical arms are both rather rare on NYC sidestreets, but they've staked a claim to this block together. They also team up frequently on the Henry Hudson Pkwy.
