Neighboring West 3rd may have more mercs, but West 2nd has a much rarer specimen. This early 1960s Westinghouse MO-8 "Wedge" is a cutoff cousin to the Westinghouse Silverliners, sharing the same upper body. They were most popular just as you see this one, hanging off utility poles in the outer boroughs, although they marked time on plenty of free standing hex pole masts as well. Avenue X is off in the background.
