94th Avenue and 138th Place - Jamaica
Photo Gallery: Sidestreet Scenes

west
Looking west on 94th Avenue towards the Van Wyck Expressway, where 94th takes over from Atlantic Avenue. This is where the Port Authority's Airtrain leaves the Expressway for its final run into its Jamaica Terminal, to be located next to the railroad's Jamaica Station.
94th Avenue isn't the only otherwise obscure sidestreet to take over the reigns from a major well known artery like Atlantic Avenue. 138th Place, though cut off here by the railroad, pretty much does the same on the northern side of the tracks, where it takes up for a terminated queens boulevard, south of Jamaica Avenue.
east
A glance eastward revealing colorful, if brutal, Airtrain excavation. Though 94th is lined with commercial buildings, the adjacent side streets are residential.
closer
A closer look east, towards 143rd Street and the Airtrain construction.
