Independence Ave south of Kappock
Independence rolls drunkenly downhill, from Kappock Ave and the Henry Hudson Pkwy, to Half Moon Park and Palisade Avenue, overlooking the Hudson and Spuyten Duyvil Rivers. The doubledecked bridge in the background is the Henry Hudson. The cream color brick building is, except for its color, typical of 1950's apartment houses in NYC's outer boroughs. The cream bricks were popular in many 1930's era art deco apartment houses, of which the Bronx had many. The utility pole holding the constipated looking Thomas Betts 327 luminaire, tilts precariously towards the street. Shot 10/98.
