Grand Central Parkway Looking West from Union Turnpike

Grand Central Parkway Looking West from Union Turnpike Image 0The westbound Grand Central Parkway is just about to merge with the center lanes coming in from the Van Wyck Expressway. The center lanes going the other way are headed for the southbound Van Wyck. The lanes to the far left are the Grand Central Parkway's eastbound thru traffic. The overpass ahead carries the IND subway cars into the Flushing/Jamaica maintenance yard. It once carried commuters on a short lived spur into the 1939-1940 World's Fair.
