Grand Central Parkway Union Turnpike looking West

Grand Central Parkway Union Turnpike looking West Image 0Westbound Union Turnpike crosses the Grand Central Parkway over it's own arches. This was shot from beneath the Van Wyck Expressway's elevated northbound extension. Typical Forest Hills apartment houses can be glimpsed in the hazy background. The right side arch carries the westbound thru traffic of the Grand Central Parkway. The arch to it's left brings in new business from the Van Wyck Expressway. Other arches left of that carry southbound traffic to the Van Wyck, eastbound thru traffic of the Grand Central Parkway and Brooklyn bound traffic to the Jackie Robinson Parkway, which was known as the Interborough until 1997.
Shot late summer 1998.
