Brooklyn-Queens Expressway North to Queens Boulevard

As in the northbound view of the LIRR overpass, holding court center stage is the median strip twin lamp pole sporting two iconic Thomas Betts TB-123 fixtures.
Brooklyn-Queens Expressway North to Queens Boulevard Image 165th Place is a strange anomaly for Queens. Streets designated "Place" are usually insignificant one black long affairs wedged between two standard multi-block long "Street" designated streets. 65th Place however, is not only a major neighborhood thoroughfare, it gets to cut across Queens Boulevard, itself a rare privilege that many busy roads don't even qualify for, but to top it off, has its own fairly grand overpass over a major arterial highway. Looking at Google Earth today, you will see both overpasses were reconstructed and once again, the center median pole is history.
