Pendant Lights are street light luminaires that are usually hung down from their masts as opposed to cobra heads which are affixed to the ends of their masts. Pendants traditionally employed older style incandescent lamps, although many modern pendant fixtures use mercury or sodium vapor lamps. Many pendant fixtures get affixed to the ends of their masts like more modern types, whereas some clam shell fixtures ended up hung pendant style, as the original Idlewild/JFK Airport lamps were.
