Jackie Robinson Parkway at Park Lane Square

Jackie Robinson Parkway at Park Lane Square Image 0Looking west at the Jackie Robinson Parkway from Park Lane Square overpass. An aging 1960's GE M400 cobra head mercury vapor luminaire was still surviving on its rusting "Quarterloop" uplift mast, as of the writing of this page in 1998. The erstwhile service road on the right side of the parkway is westbound Union Turnpike. The overpass in the distance is eastbound Union Turnpike.
The next exit is Metropolitan Avenue. Forest Park begins its long love affair with the Jackie Robinson Parkway just out of sight to the left. Park Lane will circle Forest Park's eastern and southern perimeters, nearly all the way to the Brooklyn border.
Shot in the spring 1998.
